烏魯木齊市新聞辦主任候漢敏，被問到當局會否為武警打傷及扣留香港記者及攝影師的事件道歉時說，正了解事件，指當局會全力保護正當的採訪行為，但當時有記者並沒有配戴記者證。不過，被打的三名記者及攝影師，採訪期間是有配戴記者證。
